Christmas Eve 2009
All my pets are safe and warm as am I.
In this age of homeless people I do not take my comfort for granted. I am lucky to have a roof over my head and food to eat. May we all be reminded of how lucky we are to have the basics in life - a roof and food. Not eveyone is so lucky. Tonight many people will die of starvation and hypothermia.
Please do not let me hear people complaining because they think the Christmas cake is a bit dry, or the dead pig is too salty or they are bored with dead turkey - give me strength not to whip them as they deserve a good whipping.
I'd shove a raw cabbage (full of iron to constipate them) up their arses to hopefully install some sense into them - oh I have cursed! Get over it.
The excesses of Christmas really piss me off. I think some people are so spolit they forget how lucky they really are.
So tonight be thankful for what you have as you have more than most if you can read this web site - you have a computer. Some people do not have a slice of bread to eat.
Infra red lights constantly on in the stables and kennels in this cold weather - mind you my dogs are at the fire as I write. They must be at the fire these days. My main living room floor is a carpet of dogs and I love it! Tonight, as it is Christmas Eve, my dogs gave me a present - I can have the remote control all to myself so I'll see what is on the television and I'll try not to be too selfish.
See how lucky I am and my rescued pets?
The Big Lads actually like being out in the clear cold air but they do take a break at night and they come into the stables for a wee rest. For the last two nights I went out to check on them before going to bed and they were down the fields just gently grazing so I left a bunch of carrots on the floor of the stables and either they ate them or Santa did as they were gone the following morning.
Santa comes early up here as he doesn't have far to travel.
I'm not leaving out any mince pies for Santa as he seriously needs to lose weight, bless him, so tonight when he calls he'll be greeted by a stash of carrots again.
A clear sky, frost and ice. It is really beautiful here in this weather. The frost gives firm definition to even the most delicate branches.
I took some photos as I was driving to a mince pie party in one of the local houses. There was more whiskey to be had than mince pies!
Tomorrow, Christmas Day, after I have fed the Big Lads and my dogs are cosy by the fire, I am heading to a few friends for dinner. I made a special present for them: A collage of all my beautiful pets. My friends up here adore animals so they will love the gift I made for them. My friends are mad dancers and I'll say we'll dance more than we eat. I dance stationary on my good leg but I do fine.
After dinner, I'll head back and spend the night with my darling dogs and we'll all watch a movie together and I'll move from one to the other giving them extra kisses so they know I adore them - not just because it is Christmas.
This Christmas I think of Buttons who was with me last Christmas. Now she is on my bedside locker - a beautiful casket full of her ashes. I must have her near to me wherever I go. Buttons I miss you so much my darling. There is a hole in my heart that cannot ever be filled by your loss.
I'll upload the few photos I got today.
Have a good Christmas. Be good to people who are in need and be good to animals who are in distress.
Afterall what is Christmas about? It is a time for giving. Give less to yourself and more to people and animals in need.
If you dare to complain about umimportant trivial things, well watch out as I'll be behind you with a head of rough raw cabbage...
