The Diary

Hello to you all
Just to let you know that Bláithín is doing very well. Each day I take her into the stables and give her a good feed on her own so she can gain some weight. She is a gentle soul and she knows her name already. I stay with her while she eats and I talk to her in a gentle tone so she will someday truly believe that she is safe here and she is loved for just being herself - a beautiful pure soul.
I am treating the rain scald on her back with baby oil and already the scabs have dried up and so soon I hope new hair will grow in the bald patches. I am still keeping a rain proof coat on her as at night it gets cold and poor Bláithín has no fat to insultate her so she needs a coat on her for now.
Bláithín gets on so well with Scruffy, Pixie, Paddy and Blackie.
Blackie loves his new mate and he proudly grazes with his new girlfriend, Bláithín, by his side.
Pepe is on a strict diet still. He has lost some weight but it will be slow.
Thank you to Aileen and Ann Marie Moore who have kindly walked Pepe for me. They have a beautiful dog called Ossie and Pepe gets on well with Ossie. The only problem is Pepe is afraid to leave me! You see he was abandoned by his previous owners so I can understand how he now is afraid to let go of me - his new 'Mammy'! Pepe is afraid that he will not be delivered back to me after a walk - poor Pepe, as he he is still so insecure.
Today I was a bit fed up so I took Pepe, Blossie, Tess, Bubbles and Pluto to the beach. I needed to clear my head and I adore the sea. No sooner had we arrived at the beach but it started to rain so heavily. We all got soaked.
However I threw the ball into the sea and Pepe swam out and got the ball and then Bubbles took it off Pepe and shredded the ball. Oh Bubbles when will you learn that I can't buy a new ball each time we go to the beach?
I have a stash of tennis balls now as I know each time I go to the beach Bubbles will shred the ball so I need a spare stock!
Pepe had a good swim and burnt off a few calories. Now they are all sitting by the fire drying out. My cottage is like a beach - sand everywhere but sure what does that matter? That's what hoovers were invented for and I have 2 hoovers!
Will talk soon
Take Care
Annette
