I am pleased to report that Pepe and Scruffy are doing well.
Pepe's wound is healing well. Very lucky. Scruffy is not limping now. Very lucky.

Pepe and Scruffy get sick in the same week
Last week I was busy minding Pepe and Scruffy. They are doing good now. Off to the vet tomorrow again with Pepe. What would we all do without the great vets

Scruffy bites the lock off the stables door
I brought Scruffy and Pixie into the stables as I was waiting on Linda Thompson, from The Donkey Sanctuary, to do a home check. Off I went to the shops to grab

The Diary

11 July 2010

It rained all day yesterday but I am glad as it is good for the grass.

Blackie, Bláithín, Paddy, Scruffy and Pixie were clever enough to shelter in the stables. I did a mega muck out session today.

I don't mind as I love to see them safe from the rain. The sheep also hid in the stables and I had to muck out their poo too. It is harder to much out sheep poo than horse or donkey poo as sheep poo is sticky and it is hard to clean it off the mats. Just some useful information to lighten up your day!

The sun came back today and the sky is blue. I knew the sun would not hide for long. Tess, Blossie, Pluto, Bubbles, Pepe, Sandy and Meg spent the day sunbathing on the grass.

2 nights ago I saw a beautiful rainbow and out I went with the camera. The sky was a magnificent red colour and I took some photos. They came out ok and so I am upoading them now to the Scenery and Animal Sections. No editing on these photos. I hardly ever edit my photos as I like to present the real thing. I think editing is cheating.

The only editing I do is to brighten up a photo or crop it.

It was a beautiful day here so all my pets got plenty of rest in the heat. They love the heat and the sun as they can lie down and snooze with one eye closed and one eye open - they are always alert even when they look like they are sleeping. It is a survival thing. They are always on the lookout for danger. It goes back to the days when horses and donkeys lived in the wild and they had to be alert for fear of attack from a predator.

Now their worst predator is Homo Sapiens - or as I like to call the species - Homo Euro - how much money is this animal worth?

It is not about Animal Welfare, it is about how much money can be made from the poor animal. Homo euro - shame on you.
