I am pleased to report that Pepe and Scruffy are doing well.
Pepe's wound is healing well. Very lucky. Scruffy is not limping now. Very lucky.

Pepe and Scruffy get sick in the same week
Last week I was busy minding Pepe and Scruffy. They are doing good now. Off to the vet tomorrow again with Pepe. What would we all do without the great vets

My dear friend, Ciara Green, kindly visits Bengy for me while he is still in UCD Vet Hospital Dublin. You can see the amazing bandage that vets Clodagh and Lou Ann have placed over his back burn wound and you can also see where the skin grafts were taken from the front of his chest. If you have been following the story of Bengy you will know that he may not have made it through his awful burns - but now there is some hope- thanks to the UCD Vet Hopsital Dublin. Skilled vets who can do skin grafts and who really care about Bengy. Would anyone like to help me pay for Bengy's hospital bill? It will cost around 2,000 euro but 2,000 euro will save Bengy's life

This is Paddy. He is so small he can't even look over the stable door! No wonder Blackie thinks he is a big dog and chases him away. Poor Paddy. It will take a while for Blackie to accept him into the pack

Late evening as it is almost dark, The Irish Horse Welfare Trust horse box arrives with my new rescued mare. The Irish Horse Welfare Trust saved this poor mare and now she will have a home here. Arpil 28th 2010

Beverly Morgan from The Irish Horse Welfare Trust leads my new mare out of the horse box. This poor horse is so timid and so thin. Beverly is an expert with horses and she works non stop saving horses in distress. It is thanks to people like Beverly that this poor horse landed here to start a good life. April 28th 2010

Blaithin's coat has improved so much in just 3 weeks of good care. The rain scald scabs have dried up and hair is beginning to grow back. Compare this to the photos of her taken on 29th April 2010. June 1st 2010

Blaithin's coat is now shiny and she has put on some weight. She is responding well to care and special attention. June 1st 2010

Even though the grass is good this time of year, I give Blaíthín extra cereal feed each day as she needs extra nutrition and calories to get back to a healthy weight. While she is eating I talk gently to her and pet her so she will know she is now totally safe and so loved. June 1st 2010

Blaithin having her teeth checked by Equine Dentist, Niamh Mc Daid. Blaithin was so good but then again she was in safe hands as Niamh is a brilliant Equine Dentist. Blaithin had some spikes on her teeth but Niamh shaved them down and she is due another dental check in October. 12th July 2010
