I am pleased to report that Pepe and Scruffy are doing well.
Pepe's wound is healing well. Very lucky. Scruffy is not limping now. Very lucky.
10 August 2010
Pepe and Scruffy get sick in the same week
Last week I was busy minding Pepe and Scruffy. They are doing good now. Off to the vet tomorrow again with Pepe. What would we all do without the great vets
17 July 2010
Scruffy bites the lock off the stables door
I brought Scruffy and Pixie into the stables as I was waiting on Linda Thompson, from The Donkey Sanctuary, to do a home check. Off I went to the shops to grab

Nature's Tears of Joy

The sunset lights up the sea in defiance to the dark cloud. This cloud has a silver lining! Looking across to Maheroarty from my front door as I get ready to settle in for the night.

The sunset is a brighter force than the dark cloud! It casts a bright silver blast onto the Autumn sea. October 1st 2007.

The lighthouse on Tory Island as it flashes across towards Horn Head. Took me over 2 hours to capture the "flash" - I am slow - I know! It's not easy as the light flashes for a split second and to capture it, for me, is not easy!

A larger view of the Tory Island lighthouse flashing. It must be so comforting for any lost mariner to see the lighthouse flashing as they know they have a safe haven to steer towards

Summer heather - a perfect purple present from Nature

A small gap in the stone wall leads the eye to a beautiful mountain view

The tree behind my cottage is not so barren. In this Autumn 2008 it has produced a fine crop of berries to feed the wild birdlife on Horn Head

The Autumn sky trying desperately to light up the land. A view from my cottage not seen before

The view from my front door!A beautiful sunset looking over towards Bloodyforeland early October 2008

A beautiful kind rainbow gives a magic touch to the lonely tree in the back field. This lonely tree has a special friend in Nature's rainbow and now it will survive the winter

The rainbow blesses the cottage and farm too. What a bold statement from Nature saying all is protected. Thank you beautiful rainbow. You lift my spirits every time I see you.

The evening sky on 27th Oct 2008. Red colours in the sky light up the terrain below

Snow in the air! The evening sky on Oct 29th 2008! Dark heavy skies prepare us for the hailstones to come! Mind you a small patch of blue sky gives some hope!

The gate leading to the hills on the farm with the stone walls on either side of the gate bathed in snow. The stone walls look exquisite as the snow defines the shapes of the stones and shows how they intertwine with each other 19th January 2009

The energy of the sea - exquisite. Maheroarty beach Sept 18th 2009

With wild seas like this I think it is a good idea to have a lighthouse on Tory Island - with a flashing light. Protect the mariners. I find Tory Island so haunting. I can spend hours trying to get a photo of the lighthouse flashing

Waves ahoy there. Where is the safe harbour? Just down the beach actually to the left! Maheroarty beach Sept 18th 2009

Tory Island lighthouse again casting it's magic light across the dark horizon. Sept 18th 2009

Maheroarty beach. Who needs a washing machine? - just throw your clothes into this marine cycle. Now there's a way of reducing your "carbon footprint". Where do people get these expressions? Carbon footprint, Celtic Tiger... blah blah blah - there's another one! - blah blah blah...
